Zichi Bread with Sauce

Have you ever eaten bread like it was pasta? Now you can, with this recipe for delicious zichi bread with sauce, a typical Sardinian dish.
Zichi bread, which is originally from the Bonorva region, is a prodotto agroalimentare tradizionale, which means it is listed as a traditional agri-food product by the Italian government.
It’s a very versatile ingredient, which can be ripped up and enjoyed in a delicious sheep broth, or served with boar and gran campidano sauce, as in this easy and tasty recipe.
Procedure
STEP 1
Start the preparation of zichi bread with sauce by browning the boar meat in hot oil with the chopped onion, carrot and celery.
STEP 2
Add a slug of white wine, season to taste with salt, add tomato sauce and the bay leaves to season, then cook everything on a low heat for around 1 hour.
STEP 3
When the sauce is ready, boil the zichi bread in salted water for around 10 minutes.
STEP 4
After 10 minutes, drain the zichi bread and mix it in the pan with the sauce, stirring carefully.
STEP 5
Sprinkle with Gran Campidano and serve your zichi bread with sauce!
