Description

Ricotta tiramisu is a more delicate version of the classic tiramisu . The only difference between the two desserts is the use of ricotta in the cream, replacing the mascarpone.

The result will be an equally sweet and delicious dessert, but with a lighter flavor. The process and other ingredients are the same as for traditional tiramisu.

Here’s what you need to do to prepare this alternative version of tiramisu.

For the tiramisu
  • Ladyfingers 150 g
  • Arborea Cuor di ricotta 400 g
  • Egg yolks 2
  • Granulated sugar 100 g
  • Arborea fresh cream 150 ml

To soak the ladyfingers
  • Coffee q.b.
  • Sugar q.b.

For the icing
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder q.b.

Instructions

  • 1 Before starting to prepare the dessert, prepare one or two large cups of coffee, pour it into a deep dish, sweeten it and let it cool.
  • 2 Now you can prepare the ricotta cream you'll need to assemble your dessert. Place the egg yolks in a bowl with the sugar and beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, whip the cream with a whisk, being careful not to tear it.
  • 3 Add the well-drained ricotta to the egg mixture and mix from bottom to top with a spoon to incorporate it, then add the cream by spoonfuls.
  • 4 Now you can assemble your dessert. Dip the ladyfingers in the sweetened coffee, being careful not to over-soak them. Arrange a first layer of biscuits on the bottom of a baking dish. Then, pour some of the cream over them and spread it out to completely cover them. Then, arrange a second layer of biscuits and spread the remaining cream on top.
  • 5 Dust the ricotta tiramisu with bitter cocoa and chill it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before serving.

To make this tiramisu recipe
kid- friendly , you can replace the coffee with a milk and chocolate syrup. To do this, place the cocoa powder in a small saucepan, slowly add 2 cups of milk, and stir gently until it melts and turns into chocolate. Once ready, let it cool and begin assembling the dessert with the first layer of ladyfingers.

 

If you want to make the ricotta cream even tastier,
you can add some dark chocolate chips to the mixture
