Good Milk in Schools – Food education, play, and well-being
This is the idea behind “Good Milk in Schools”, the food education project through which Arborea works alongside primary schools in Sardinia.
An initiative born from the desire to teach children the value of a healthy diet, promoting a balanced lifestyle through the most natural language for kids — play.
A widespread, inclusive, and engaging educational project
A project carried out in collaboration with Sedplus (a multidisciplinary creative agency based in Oristano) and Sprim (a company specializing in food communication), which in 2025 involved over 1,000 students from 19 schools across the island — including Cagliari, Nuoro, Sassari, Olbia, Oristano, Carbonia, Riola Sardo, Sorgono, and Palmas Arborea, just to name a few.
Each session was supported by educational materials created by Sprim’s nutrition experts, explaining to children — in simple and engaging language — the importance of:
- having a balanced breakfast,
- varying the colors on their plate,
- staying hydrated,
- being active every day,
- and avoiding food waste.
Arborella and the Wellness Farm
To help children understand more complex concepts, Arborea chose to use theatrical storytelling.
The classroom activities revolve around the adventures of Arborella, a friendly character who lives on the Wellness Farm, the main character of an interactive storybook written by SPRIM and gifted to all the children.
The theatrical script was performed in a traveling format across schools, featuring moments of storytelling, interaction, and reflection — interspersed with games, quizzes, and creative workshops.
An educational kit, games, and a cow to color
Each class received an educational kit to reinforce the concepts learned in class:
- quizzes and crosswords about nutrition,
- puzzles and activities about hydration
- The Rainbow of Health, an interactive game to discover the benefits of the different colors of fruits and vegetables,
- and a cow silhouette to decorate — a fun outlet for the children’s creativity.
Everything concluded with the now-iconic Arborella Dance, a joyful and engaging moment of movement and participation, set to the project’s official song.
A colorful and participatory Cow Parade
The 2025 edition concluded with a major event that brought together children and teachers in a true Cow Parade.
The personalized cows decorated during the workshops, along with drawings and artistic creations, were displayed — symbols of a journey carried out with enthusiasm, affection, and teamwork.
Good Milk in Schools is more than a project: it’s an educational alliance between children, schools, and the local community, designed to nurture a new generation that is aware, curious, and healthy.
